You Don’t Say

Customers say the darndest things:

None of the photographers we hired last year knew what we wanted.

None of the other photographers knew how to take pictures we like.

We’ve had such a hard time finding a photographer who knows the right price.

I know this is what we asked for but it isn’t what we want.

If our budget changes, we may not be able to pay you.

We need a portrait of our CEO done this afternoon and we’re willing to pay $75.

The pictures of our office should show that we’re like a big company but cheaper.

We want a night-time view of the store exterior but you have to shoot it during the day when the parking lot is full. . . . Can’t you just darken the picture and add a moon?

Can’t you photograph around those trees?

What do you charge for three pictures?

The picture is no good. The filename is wrong.

It’s for our web site. So about 1/4 the size of my screen.

I’m using the normal software for editing pictures – Microsoft Word.

The colour needs to be more black and white.

We love the black and white portraits but can they somehow be more colourful?

Can you make my suit look more expensive?

I want to look like I was born in the 1980s.

Can you turn the building a bit to the left so we can see more of the other side?

Don’t photograph him. He’s going to be fired next week.

Use good lighting. We don’t want customers seeing how cheap our products are.

We got your invoice but we’re waiting to see if we’re still going to be in business next week.

You’d be a better photographer if you were cheaper.
