Business Portrait Retouching

A business portrait is not about looking flashy or letting the photographer make an artistic statement. Its purpose is much more practical: to help potential customers, employers, or colleagues see you as trustworthy, competent, approachable, and professional. A strong portrait presents you at your best and reinforces confidence in who you are.

Many small details can reduce the effectiveness of a portrait. Lighting may not be optimized for the person’s face or pose. Catchlights may be missing or poorly positioned. Clothing wrinkles or uneven collars may go unnoticed during the photo session. Stray hairs can hang over the face or stick out awkwardly. Even subtle distractions can pull attention away from the subject and weaken the overall impression. Most of these issues are not caused by the customer but rather they are usually signs of inexperience or lack of attention on the photographer’s part.

Professional retouching can correct many of these problems. It can clean up distractions, refine lighting, and polish the image while still keeping the portrait natural and believable.
