Photo Retouching Makes You Look Good

A vinyl banner on the side of a van. The centre photo has a shower with blue masking tape left over from the installation. The shower on the right has window reflections. All three showers are crooked and curved. The crookedness is emphasized by the way the outer pictures lean into the centre photo.

Today I saw a big, shiny van belonging to a company that makes and installs glass showers. The sides of the van had large photos of glass-enclosed showers. But apparently no one bothered to look at the pictures before they were printed on vinyl and attached to the sides of the vehicle.

All three glass showers shown in the pictures were crooked. One shower had distracting window reflections. Another shower had blue masking tape left over from the installation. Why use pictures like this to represent your company?

All of these mistakes should have been corrected by the photographer. Failing that, photo retouching could have easily and quickly fixed the mistakes. The cost of retouching would have been minuscule compared to the cost of the vehicle’s vinyl banners.

A quick example of retouching. I used a cellphone photo of the vehicle banner but had I started with the original photos, the final result would’ve been much better. It took only a few minutes to remove the blue tape, remove the reflections, and straighten the glass panes. The uneven exposures could also have been fixed.

The purpose of photo retouching is to make your company look good. Photo retouching fixes and polishes your photos. It ensures that your company makes a good impression.

Retouching isn’t just for portraits. Every picture your business uses can be enhanced with photo retouching. Your customers make decisions based on the photography you use. Help them make the right decision.
